How soon should I call after dropping something overboard?
Immediately. Small items silt over quickly and tide can move lighter objects, so same-day recovery has the highest success rate.
What if you can't find it?
I'll tell you upfront what the odds look like based on depth, bottom type, and how long it's been down, so you can decide before any dive.
